Boys Noize - Yeah

This sent chills down my spine at Electric Zoo, and now it's officially out:

LA Riots - The Drop

AHHHHHH FINALLY!!

LA Riots have been teasing with this song for what seems like years, and every sick touring DJ seems to have had this VIP...and now at last it's in our hands.

I'm, of course, talking about "The Drop" (Thanks to Discobelle for the head's up!)

The Kids Are All Hype

Summertime has come and gone, and I just wanna womp and rage and discohouse. I hope you do too.

Another Elite Force mix...

I think I stumbled upon something awesome last month with Elite Force's promo mix for the month of May.

Well he's back, with a summer time mix that ups the ante (and somehow starts off with the out-of-hibernation Godspeed You! Black Emperor??).

Dirty dirty dirty dirty DIRTY! Download it here.

Songs of the week: 7/2/10

Wow, it's been awhile! World cup fever has kept me connected to my Spanish-speaking brethren, but I've had a rough week nursing the loss of the Yanks - at least Ghana got what was coming to them today from Uruguay, in one of the best games I've ever had the privilege of seeing!

But now, for the music...
***songs of the week #33:
1. Can't Stop Now (Armor Love Remix) - Major Lazer (From Major Lazer's recent mixtape collaboration with La Roux)
2. Over - Drake (Oh so good)
3. I Died So I Could Haunt You - Stars (For better or worse, a pretty good feel for what Stars' new album's like)
4. Your Rabbit Feet - Wild Nothing (From their new EP)
5. Texico Bitches - Broken Social Scene (Especially apt considering that shit in the Gulf - same idea, different company though)

DJ I.D.

In the world of nasty Bass Music, there's a sick new EP out by I.D. on Sub Slayers records.

The individual tracks (via soundcloud) ain't too bad, as evidenced by "Mustang" below:

Mustang VIP by I.D.
But the real highlight for me is the attached promo mix, a flurry of dancehall and dubstep featuring the likes of Dubbel Dutch and Jakes:

June 2010 - Mustang Ep Mix by I.D. on Mixcloud

Be sure to check out dat MySpace and share the love.

Luv Deluxe - Cinnamon Chasers

This is quite possibly the coolest concept for a music video that I've ever seen, set perfectly to the music. Aspiring video directors, take note of Saman Keshavarz's impeccable example:

Wild Nothing - Summer Holiday

It's been a long time since "indie" music has captivated me. Ever since I went down the dark rabbit hole that is electro house and dubstep, every song I hear has turned into me looking for the bass, critiquing the synth, and waiting interminably for the drop - but I miss feel good pop fare, the music that makes you sad and joyful and wistful all at once without you even knowing it.

Wild Nothing, it's good to be back:
